AtenaReminder

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 13, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the AtenaReminder app, developed by AtenaSoft, handles user information. By using the app, you agree to the practices described here.

Summary

  • Your reminders, categories, and settings stay only on your device. We have no servers and do not receive this data.
  • The app does not require sign-up or login.
  • The app shows ads from Google AdMob, which may collect device information, such as the advertising ID, to serve and measure ads.
  • We do not sell personal data.

1. Data stored on your device

To work, the app stores the following locally, in your device's internal storage:

  • the reminders you create (title, description, date, time, and repeat rules);
  • categories, completion history, and snoozes;
  • your preferences (theme, language, sounds, and other settings).

This information is not sent to us or to third parties by the app. It stays under your control and can be deleted at any time (see section 6).

2. Android backup

If automatic backup is turned on for your device, Android itself may include the app's data in your Google Account backup. This backup is made and stored by Google, under the Google Privacy Policy. We have no access to it. You can turn it off in Android's backup settings.

3. Ads (Google AdMob)

The app is free and shows ads provided by Google AdMob. To serve, personalize (where allowed), and measure ads, and to prevent fraud, the AdMob SDK may automatically collect and process:

  • the Android advertising ID;
  • the IP address and the approximate location derived from it;
  • device and system information (model, Android version, language, carrier);
  • interactions with ads (views and clicks);
  • SDK diagnostics and performance data.

Google handles this data under the Google Privacy Policy and the page How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

Consent: in regions where the law requires it (such as the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland), the app asks for your consent before showing personalized ads. You can review your choice at any time in Settings → Privacy → Ad privacy options.

Advertising ID controls: you can delete or reset your advertising ID, or turn off ad personalization, in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads (the path may vary by device).

4. App permissions

The app only asks for the permissions it needs to alert you about your reminders:

  • Notifications: to show reminders at the scheduled time.
  • Exact alarms: to fire each reminder at the exact minute you set.
  • Full-screen notifications: to show the reminder's alarm screen, even when the device is locked.
  • Run at startup: to reschedule reminders after the device restarts.
  • Vibration and keep the device awake: so the alert rings and vibrates properly.
  • Internet access: used only to load ads.

The app does not access your contacts, photos, files, microphone, camera, or precise location.

5. Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data. The only sharing is done by the Google AdMob SDK, described in section 3, for advertising purposes. We may also disclose information if required by law or court order, but note that we do not store user data on our own servers.

6. Retention and deletion

  • You can delete reminders and categories directly in the app.
  • To erase all data, go to Android Settings → Apps → AtenaReminder → Storage → Clear data, or uninstall the app.
  • Data processed by Google for ads follows Google's retention periods.

7. Security

The app's data is kept in the app's private storage, which Android protects from access by other apps. The ads SDK's communication with Google's servers is encrypted (HTTPS).

8. Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided data through the app, please contact us.

9. Your rights

Under applicable data protection laws (such as the Brazilian LGPD and the European GDPR), you have the right to confirm whether your data is processed, and to access, correct, and delete it, as well as to withdraw consent. Since your usage data stays only on your device, you can exercise most of these rights directly in the app or in Android. For data processed by Google, use the tools at myaccount.google.com.

10. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page, with the date of the last update at the top.

11. Contact

If you have questions about this policy or about your data, reach AtenaSoft through our contact page.
